The Bi-Directional Catheter Sheath Device™ is a specialized medical sheath used in angioplasty that allows doctors to guide a wire in both directions—towards the heart and towards the feet—without needing a second artery puncture. This innovation improves efficiency and reduces patient risk during vascular procedures.
The Bi-Directional Catheter Sheath Device™ works by using an internal turn-around wire guide inside the sheath. When a guide wire is inserted in the retrograde direction (towards the heart), the device redirects it 180 degrees within the sheath, allowing it to continue in the antegrade direction (towards the feet). This enables practitioners to perform examinations and treatments in both directions using a single artery puncture, improving procedural flexibility and reducing patient risk.
